Urban Mangoes
It takes two to Mango
The idea of a community based urban plantation was initiated by Lisette and Dunja.
They were surprised about the amount of beautiful Mango trees in the gardens on Curaçao. Many times they were full with ripe mangoes and Lisette and Dunja felt they were not always used to their potential.
Their mission is to not waste food, make delicious healthy local products and have the community profit from it. And so they started to monitor and harvest mango trees spread out in gardens all over Curaçao.
The mangoes are processed into delicious ready-to-eat products which are sold locally. The tree owners receive credits which they can use to ‘buy’ the products made from their mangoes ripened under the Curaçao Sun.
